Volunteer Manager
We are looking for a freelance Volunteer Manager to lead the recruitment, training and coordination of our festival volunteers across three key summer events. You'll be the central point of contact for our incredible volunteer community, playing a vital role in delivering smooth operations and unforgettable experiences.

Key Information
- Rates: £180/day pre-production | £250/day onsite
- Dates: 5–10 days remote pre-production between 21 May – 14 August. 12 days onsite.
Setup: Thur 20 Aug

Camp Wildfire #1: Fri 28 – Mon 31 Aug
Camp Wildfire #2: Fri 4 Sept – Mon 7 Sept - Location: A beautiful heritage pine forest near Sevenoaks, Kent

Your responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning and coordination of all volunteers across events
- Manage volunteer applications, communications, and build rotas pre-event
- Set up and manage the Volunteer HQ onsite
- Deliver volunteer induction, briefings and daily check-ins
- Welcome volunteers to site, issue welcome packs, uniforms and meal tickets
- Line manage general festival volunteers onsite, acting as their first point of contact
- Support Volunteer Leads with scheduling and issue resolution
- Ensure all volunteers have the correct resources and information for their roles
- Maintain up-to-date rotas and oversee shift changes and handovers
- Provide 1-to-1 support meetings with volunteers, as needed
- Liaise closely with the wider production and operations team
- Support and contribute to Health & Safety briefings and best practice onsite
- Champion our community values and help create a positive, inclusive atmosphere
Your skills & experience
- Significant experience managing volunteers or teams at live events or festivals
- Strong organisational and people management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience leading teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments
- Calm, empathetic and confident when handling sensitive situations
- Able to build strong rapport across departments and with large volunteer teams
- DBS check
Desirable skills & experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Health & Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH)
- Experience working with scheduling or project management software
