Volunteer Rangers & Hosts
We are looking for proactive, engaging and helpful volunteers to fulfil a few different roles around the site to keep the camp looking tip-top, host our guest-campers and bring the spirit of camp to our vibrant community!
WHAT WE OFFER:
The opportunity to be part of our amazing, fun team, with access to our unique events in a beautiful heritage pine forest near Sevenoaks, Kent, all now sold out!
Activities: During your time off over the three days, you can enjoy incredible drop-in activities, games, bands, talks, DJ’s, comedy and more!
You will be offered an access ticket which enables you to participate in all drop-in activities, you can purchase extra credits if you would like to enjoy any of the credited activities.
Food: We will provide you 1 meal voucher per shift up to 5h or 2 meal vouchers for shifts of 6h or more hours.
Rest & Access: You will be given space to camp in the crew & artist areas.
DATES:
Camp Kindling - from 15th to 18th August
Camp Wildfire I - from 22nd August to 25th August
Camp Wildfire II - from 29th August to 1st of September
You will be required to volunteer for up to a total of 14h per weekend.
Depending on your assigned role, you will be required to arrive on site and be set up by Friday 9am, Friday midday or Saturday 9am.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Rangers
You'll be working with our Lead Ranger, who'll let you know your shifts & where you’ll be needed. As part of our brilliant crew of Rangers, you’ll need to stay flexible - tasks might change from shift to shift, which just adds to the fun and variety of the weekend!
Community
- Entry: welcoming campers at the entrance gates, assisting gate staff if necessary
- Arrival & setup: helping with bags, finding & communicating camping space, help pitching tents to those in need
- Info: be a helpful human across camp, providing clear information e.g. directions
- Patrol Games: welcoming & ushering campers at our evening games
- Night Games: be a helpful presence, handing out materials for our hosts, fetching props etc.
- Departure: handing out our group photo goodbye gifts and leaving a positive lasting impression on our campers
Maintenance
- Reusable cups: picking up any discarded reusable cups and putting them in drop zones
- Cooking areas: keep them tidy & clean
- Games arena brushup: confetti cannon clear up
Hosting:
- Welcoming and directing guests, helping with bags if necessary
- Providing information and responding to inquiries
Volunteer Reserved Camp Hosts
- Welcoming and directing guests, helping with bags if necessary
- Providing information and responding to inquiries
- Managing new and existing bookings
Volunteer Sanctuary Hosts
- Welcoming guests and directing them to their allocated massage tent or other wellness treatments
- Providing information and responding to inquiries
- Managing new and existing bookings
- Assisting massage therapists with small tasks
- Maintaining the sanctuary area tidy, organised and looking Zen
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in customer facing roles at festivals / outdoor live events
- You embody our core values
- Problem solving skills, a proactive approach and a can-do attitude
- Ability to create connections & bring people together
- Well organised individual eager to be helpful & develop new skills
- Enthusiastic and passionate character
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (not all strictly necessary)
- Experience working in a customer service role
- First Aid Certificate
- Health & Safety Qualification
- DBS check for Camp Kindling
- Driving license
