Festival Retail Manager

As the Event Retail Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our festival-based retail operations. You will play a crucial role in creating a well-managed and efficiently run retail environment (Wildkind Stores) across our 3 festival weekends for Camp Kindling & Camp Wildfire.

Key Information

  • Rate: £150/day
  • Dates: 15 days onsite for build/break/live events, plus 5–10 days pre-prep during late July / early Aug

Ideally available for all of the following dates:

  • Setup: Wed 19 & Thur 20 Aug
  • Camp Kindling: Fri 21 – Mon 24 Aug
  • Camp Wildfire #1: Fri 28 – Mon 31 Aug
  • Camp Wildfire #2: Fri 4 Sept – Mon 7 Sept 2026
  • Location: Live event days at our heritage pine forest near Sevenoaks, Kent. Pre-prep: some work remote, ideally some at our office in Elephant & Castle
  • Application Deadline: Midnight on 26 May 2026
  • Food/Accom: 2 meals provided from crew catering per onsite working day. If staying onsite, you will need to bring your own tent / live-in vehicle.

Your responsibilities

  • Pre-event prep of stock at Wildkind office in Elephant & Castle
  • Setting up the 2-3 Wildkind Stores inc. decor and stock allocation during event build
  • Wildkind Stores Manager during live event weekends, ensuring things are running smoothly, serving customers, re-stocking, keeping things tidy
  • Managing Retail Assistants inc. briefing, rota management and onsite management
  • Responsible for daily secure closing and lock up of the Wildkind Stores
  • Stock take, pack down and clear labelling at end of all events
  • Sharing customer feedback on products, product range, pricing, new product ideas etc.
  • Note: There is a lot of physical lifting involved with this role

Your skills & experience

  • Highly organised, evidence of working to deadlines
  • Experience working in face-to-face roles with customers inc. dealing with difficult customers
  • Some experience of project management, ideally within an events, hospitality or retail environment
  • Comprehensive use of spreadsheets
  • Comfortable briefing and managing a team of 6–10 Assistants
  • Flexible, adaptable and calm under pressure

Desirable skills & experience

  • Driving Licence and comfortable driving (preferable)
  • Some experience working in a retail / shop environment
  • Experience of working with Square / POS software
  • Rota management
