Costume Manager

The role of the Costume Manager is to oversee all aspects of costume for staff at the events. The role is split into parts as follows:

1) Pre Festival (3 Days before early Aug ) (flexible)
• Check the status of costume at the Wildkind Office in Brixton
• Go over the costume brief with Creative Director, planning any updates
• Liase with managers to obtain quantity of costume required
• Design and order new costume for this year
• Order new patches & badges for this year.
• Create an inventory
• Create a check-in/out of costume
• Liase with managers to ensure all staff bring the correct extra clothing
• Oversee the costume getting down to site (in the office transport)

2) During Events (Weekend 1: 16th - 18th Aug) (Weekend 2: 23rd - 25th Aug) (Weekend 3: 30th Aug - 1st Sep)
• Create and keep a tidy, organised office, preparing the costume for staff arrival
• Welcome staff as they arrive, giving them their costume, patches and accessories
• Ensuring that staff look neat and tidy and fit the creative costume brief as they leave the office
• Completing the check-in/out sheets
• Respond to any additional costume requirements on site, using the clothes and accessories provided

3) Between Events (3 1/2 days total)
• Oversee the costume getting to launderette and being cleaned / ironed etc where needed
• Restock and check inventory

4) After Events
• Ensure all the costume has been returned from staff
• Oversee the costume getting to launderette and being cleaned
• Pack up costume neatly
• Complete inventory
• Oversee the costume getting up to the Wildkind office in Brixton (in the office transport)

Key Skills:
- You should be neat and organised
- You should be able to style basic outfits, as per the given guidelines
- You should be confident to ensure that staff wear their costumes correctly
- You should thrive and keep calm in a fast-paced environment (there are pinch-points where lots of people need costume at once, but this can be done in a considered, orderly fashion)
- You should have very basic sewing skills in case buttons / patches etc fall off

Fee and Accommodation:
• £170 a day x 9 days onsite
• £170 a day x 3 prep days (flexible between now and early Aug)
• £170 a day x 3 half days between events (flexible between the events)
- You will also receive a space in the crew bell tent if you would like, or you can bring your own tent.
